I couldn't care less that he used drugs. Most of us here know top-flight performance at an elite level almost always involves drugs of some description.

It's that the dude is holding onto the lie with so much fervor.

I mean, Lance, it's over. You've been made.

However, if he prefers to remain within the lie and settle with his legacy and star being diminished to zero, that's his choice.

My big irritant is that mainstream media/folks still become shocked and angered that, oops, someone cheated.

Yeah but what caused them to "man-up"? Bitterness, jealousy and a sweet deal. At no point has it emerged that LA did anything different - in terms of amount and substances used - than they did.

Sure, he lied about it , but they all lied for a long time as well. It's a shitty era of cycling and maybe it will clean itself up but these guys are not doing this out of moral virtue, they are jealous, bitter bitches.

He may have gone back to cycling though.

I saw him at the Nationals in 2000 (where a good friend was competing) and Chris' back looked like it had been hit with a shotgun blast full of buckshot. Terrible acne scars.

Chris is just racing local/amateur master's racing. It's really nothing compared to division 2-3 pros. It's similar to joining a local adult soccer/volleyball league.

Yeah right. Maybe your "local paper" should do some research and contact the surgeons and doctors that have written about, and given interviews about, the numerous operations they performed to remove his testicle and multiple brain tumors.
