Add some vinegar to the water before you boil them. The shell tends to hold together much better when you peel the eggs afterwards.

What is the best way? It usually takes me 7-8 minutes to peel them, and it's tedious. I hate it when the white gets stuck to the shell. I've seen the gizmos on TV that peel them instantly, but I'm sure it's not that easy. Anyway, what's the easiest way?

It's easy.

Run under cold water.

Roll them on a flat surface (table) so that you get one crack that goes around the entire circumference of the egg.

You'll then be able to peel (lift) off the top and bottom shells pretty much in one big piece (two total).

Here.

Watch DeNiro do it in Angel Heart.

If anyone knows how to peel an egg, well, it's Satan. 8)

aI said this before, bang both ends, run under water (you might have to peel a little off of the ends) and make sure the water gets under the membrane. Then peel, it takes less than a minute (20-30 secs) if you know what you are doing, and you can get whole eggshell, the egg just pops out.

Dont use fresh eggs, the older the better for boiling, not spoiled of course. The shell will come away from an older egg.
After boiling cool under water.
When ready to eat put them in a container covered and sheke them mildly, the shells will crack and some will fall off, best way I know of.
Been using this method for 30 yrs.
Hope this helps.

I have a tortuous vein running from my left temple.  Do these things get worse over time from a health and cosmetic standpoint?

Put your index finger on it very gently, is it pulsatile? If not then it is a vein, not a big deal. If it is pulsatile then it is an artery and could be a minor issue that is a simple fix.
Either way not dangerous and likely cosmetic, best advice..... see a doc. ;)

My mistake, it is an artery.  Saw one of you guys a few years ago when a little var had it really popping (also had headaches and felt it pumping just while walking around).  He said there wasn't any need for concern from a health standpoint since the occipital would keep me going, but figured I'd take the opportunity here for a 2nd opinion on whether I'm going to stroke out.

It's settled down a lot visibly and haven't had headaches or been aware of pulsing since ditching the var years ago.  It's still quite snakey tho.
