Ruhl was awesome no doubt, but lb for lb. Johnny is much thicker.  That's clear as day. Only person more thick would be Kai and he's only two inches taller than Johnny and he has legs and calves.

IMO jay in his prime was more impressive than johnnie

JOJ has the best chest in the pros...thick top to bottom, side to side. His arms are short, borderline T-Rex, he is built for benching/powerlifting. Chest is better than Ruhls---way better. Traps better than Levrone's.
Don't know why he is light in the legs, he didn't use to be...back when he won his pro card, he had legs that matched his upper body.

A few guys have come close. After winning the biggest show of his life, the 2002 NOC, he lost to a rookie (the late Art Atwood).

One year later, he got beat by a guy 50 lbs smaller in Italy, Darrem Charles.

Plus, I've give the nod to another German, Gunter Schlierkamp, who's even bigger with better proportions.

He's short, but not "small", he has to be over 225, around 230-240. And he's 5'6.
Whch means he weighs more than say Micheal Jordan did at 6'6, who was 195. And many other basketball players. And he weighs more than what Flex did for most of his career. So, "small", wouldn't be the word I'd use. He may give the illusion that he is not that big in a t-shirt, but that dude is thicker than most bbers, especially former Mr. O, Dex who is the same height.

He is very thick but more importantly and what helps give the illusion is how deep his line are, his insertion cast deep shadows and a very small bone structure, hence looks really thick. I think with 2-3 inch reduction in waist size he would be at least top 5 guy but I think his power lifting days has made his waist a little thicker.

oh totally. hes not just impressive the guy is outstanding, nobody has had shoulder and trap/neck thickness quite like him for years. thick as a house, regardless of credentials or calves lol
