i've been taking it... no double blind studies on humans have ever shown a tangible benefit in the long term

I take it, 150 mg's daily. Something that is necessary for every cell in your body to survive is worth supplementing with if you want to prevent apoptosis. Those on statins should absolutely take this supplement.
