This was a good movie, very gritty and "dark". Here is the trailer

Dialogue was good, animation good. Action, excellent. Social Commentary was good.
I give it a 8.5-9 out of 10.

The Villain looks pretty boring though.
Wait for it....

Thought about picking this up but noticed it mentioned a part two on the dvd cover.  Figured I'd wait until they are packaged together.

The Villain looks pretty boring though.
There were two---Two Face and the leader---and batman gets the daylight beat out him by the latter. You have to remember Batman has been in retirement for like 10 yrs, and is aprox. 50-55 yrs old.

Part II will probably reintroduce The Joker, who institutionized...
Also, look for the social commentary on being "understanding" of criminals, and a psychologist's explanation of Batman---that he creates his enemies. Therefore taking the blame off of the criminals for doing there crimes.
It's peppered with little bits and pieces of things to make you think about our society.

Better than under the red hood
That's the best animation comic wise I've seen

They should focus more on the animated versions of batman. The last two (Under the Red Hood and Returns) were epic.

Red hood was done in animation that you are familar with. The Dark Knight Returns, tries to capture the inks/pencils of Frank Miller.
You may like it, you may not...the fight scenes were good.
