I have to admit i have always really looked at Bodybuilders like Steve Reeves and Frank Zane for inspiration. always liked more of a symmetrical look. Size at all costs has never really been my main goal. In fact i used weight training for a long time to supplement my martial arts training. I still go more for a muscled but shaped look as for "supplements" i have never botherd with them and because of my illness i can't digest them well..if i drink a protein shake i run to the bathroom. I have met some guys who have a big ego with their big muscles but since i saw a small boned guy put a big weight trained Rugby player in a Judo strangle hold and he was helpless i realized it's not everything. I work on being fit for as long as i can. I use everything i can, running, weights, always mixing it up.

so today i had a relaxing swim at the local pool. nice whirpool that really relaxes you. No weight training today. If i had the time i would swim more often because i feel tired now but refreshed.

The gym where I go has a large Olympic sized indoor pool. I enjoy swimming laps there, but don't do it as often as I should. There was a time in my life when I swam laps almost everyday for a half hour or so. It really helps keep one fit.

one of the reasons i do not buy muscle mags anymore is that they are just full of supplement ads. OK some are ok i understand that but now itīs just making big bucks out of the dreams of young people. I know this has always been so but now itīs got worse.

Today i worked back: i was cycling around early today so it was a good warm up. Abs: V-sit ups 3x30-50(this warms up my midsection and lower back.)
Close grip chins 3x max Barbell Rows 5x10 Barbell deadlifts5 x10 One leg calf raises 5x15-20 reps per leg.
that was it and i did straight sets today because i did more sets per exercise.

so today is shoulders: Warm up Dumbell swing throughs and skipping (stretch of my lower back and warm up my shoulders) Lateral raises 4x12 superset with Barbell press4x10 bent over laterals 4x12 superset with Nieder press 4x12 The Neider press works the front delts very hard and also chest. An unusual position to work from and i learned this exercise in the Army during Boxing training, really helps when you are tired to hold your hands up...

This photo is for Karen. I was 29 when I had nasal reconstruction to correct a deviated septum. In this photo, I look like I was the loser in a fight. I think this is before the doctor took the packing out of my nose.

also got to tonight write a CV for a job with my son. A new Gym will open near us and my son wants to learn to be a Fitness Trainer, experience he has but you need that piece of paper to do the job.. over here itīs a "B" licence. I got it too and it means nothing but you have to have the qualification here.. the gym is looking to train people and qualify them. costs a lot to do the seminars.
