i agree,,i do decline dbells if i do them, dips by far is the best overall chest/upperpec delt you can do ,donny is on this too,,,prime hope all is well on your front as well,my wife is getting there ,but she's doing too much ,its tough 3 kids ,1 is a baby she needs to be mother ,i do laundry .fold, dishes by hand, dishwasher fill and uunload, outsie i had to dig in inches of snow and ice to find oil cap so oil company can bring oil,,it never ends i do all yhis after that massive 'leg workout'.

-Brought Margie home from the convalescent home today. She's pretty weak still. It is better to be home though. Nobody likes convalescent homes because they feel like places people go to die although hospice is in a different wing than the one my wife was in. An old African American lady in the room next to the one my wife was in, called out to me as I walked down the hall. When I glanced her way she was flashing her tit at me. Crazy!

I am fortunate to have our daughter and son-in-law here to help me with Margie. The snow is pretty much melted. My son-in-law and grandson cleared the driveway of snow the other day which was great because I was beginning to get cabin fever. Soon as the driveway was clear, I drove up to the store. Our dishwasher is on the fritz. The new one I bought is due to be installed on the 18th.

I will probably get some gym time in on Thursday. Today is just a little hectic. Tomorrow Margie has dialysis, which blows the day. I feel great though. I weighed 196 lbs. this morning. My gut is getting smaller, which is always a plus.

Dips used to be my favorite exercise by far. I like to do them wide for chest and narrow for triceps and I'd do them at least 2x a week. However, now that I'm old (44) they seem to really do a number on my joints, particularly my wrists. I worked through the pain until this weekend and have taken a break since then (I'm going to try and do legs tonight). The wrists are slowly feeling better but I'd hate to give up this movement.

Any of u old guys experience anything like this?

Due to having 2 bad shoulders I have to be very careful with dips/chins and even push-ups. I go through periods where I can do them any do. Right now shoulder is so bad I can't do one dip.

The gym where I workout has a Nautilus weight assisted dip machine. The nice thing about this is that you can preform the movement regardless of whether you are able to hoist your own weight. I find that I benefit from exercises where I am not totally maxing myself out weight-wise.

yes we got a chin/dip assist machine too.. not bad at all but i am still doing Dips no Problem and chins. I find Dips better for my shoulders than bench press. I always liked doing Dips and push ups superset style for chest... a few sets of flys afterwards and you are good to go.
