Friday - pecs:

weight today was 207 lbs. If I don't lose weight to get cut, I will just have to build more muscle to accomplish similar results. This is okay with me as long as the fat covering what must be abs, somewhere hidden in there, goes away.

ISO flat bench press, 5X12-5 @ 80 to 150 added weight
ISO incline bench press, 4X12-6 @ 80 to 150 added weight
ISO decline wide bench press, 4X12-6 @ 100 to 190 added weight
Nautilus weight assisted dips, 3X10-6 @ 117 to 157
Nautilus pec deck, 3X12-8 @ 82 to 121
Nautilus super pullover, 3X12-8 @ 100 to 140
Body Masters seated fly's, 3X12 @ 70 lbs.

I got a nice pump from this workout and for a minute or so my pecs actually looked pretty good. There is hope yet.

I exercised my knee doing leg extensions again. Today I did one set of 12 with using both legs @ 100 lbs then I did 3 sets of 12 on leg at a time @ 40 to 50 lbs. I twisted each leg by doing these "pigeon toed" so to speak. My outer quads are nicely sore tonight. -Could be a problem tomorrow when I work quads and calves, we'll see. The knee pain is minimal right now....excellent! I also did one set of hack squats with no added weight just to test whether it bothered my knee; it did not.
wow...great workout Jay....nice amount of sets...i like it.

Sorry to hear that, try to get back to training when you can it will help. My Dad was allergic to mayonaise too. I have go to see my Mom today I want to see her but the drive sucks.

Drive safe and enjoy your visit with your mom.

I'd go see my mom, well her memorial which is Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR, but the drive sucks and the weather sucks even more since it is still raining. Cannon Beach is about 85 miles from where I live. I'll go in the late summer when it looks like this, http://media.trb.com/media/photo/2012-03/68837349.jpg

Jay I can't eat shelf products....things with preservatives.  If it was homemade mayonaise I would be fine with it.  It's the same with salad dressings etc.  I can't eat a salad dressing bought off the shelf.  I am allergic to masterfood products as well, even their tomato sauce.

I thought you might be interested in seeing this, Karen:

Treating Mayonnaise Allergy Symptoms

•Avoiding mayonnaise in all forms or prepare it at home with the non-allergic ingredients only. You also need to avoid all commercial sauces and dressings that come in a bottle unless you are doubly sure of the contents.
•Antihistamine drugs can easily help you to get rid of the milder symptoms and medicated skin lotions relieve the skin rashes and itching completely.
•Anaphylaxis is a serious life threatening condition that can be lessened only by administering epinephrine shots.

Thanks Donny,

I think I am starting to get somewhere after only a few weeks back working out. Each workout, I try to add a little something, usually by increasing the resistance slightly, the number of reps, or the number of sets. In the case of the pec workout, I added the second group of light resistance flys at the end of the session just too finish things off and end up with a good stretch and some pump. My pecs are not sore this morning. Hopefully, I get a some feeling of fullness tomorrow. It is probably just my imagination, but my T-shirts feel a little different on my body. Sometimes even when I don't see any change, how my clothes feel on me indicates something is different.

I am hoping that my trousers get a little tighter in the leg and butt, while getting looser in the waist. I wear them pretty loose to begin with, so if I am not careful they might become saggers!  Grin At least if I had a little bit if a butt to hold them up that would not happen. Nobody wants to see some old man's ass crack....LOL!

When folks start confusing me with Steve because my quads are so huge, I will have finally arrived.

I am considering buying a few dumbbells so I can do some extra work on my biceps. The inspiration is from doing the leg extensions everyday for my knee and how that's made my quads respond.

At a previous home we had a full basement. I had a lot of workout equipment in the basement. The only issue was that I couldn't do any standing overhead presses because the ceiling was too low. -Couldn't have been too big of a problem since I rarely do anything overhead while standing anyway. On the plus side, it was nice having equipment handy and at home. On the negative side, it made it hard to commit to a specific workout time because I knew the equipment wasn't going anywhere. I did build up my quads during that time despite that I was squatting with very light weights. Just goes to prove you don't necessarily need to lift like a power lifter to get big.

Soon you will be running on the treadmill naked, like I used to do when it was in the house instead of the garage. I suppose I could run naked in the garage just as well, although it isn't that warm out there right now. My little bits of junk would probably retreat some to stay warm.  Undecided

I hate that my post is following yours since I worked legs today too and compared to you, my resistance is puny. On an up note, my knee did fine. I was actually surprised that I could handle as much weight as I did. I was expecting to have to really dial it back.

Saturday - quads and calves:

Weight 208

Nautilus leg extensions, 5X15-8 @ 100 to 160
Standing one legged calf raises, 4X20-10 @ 160 to 220
Leg press, 6X20-8 @ 200 to 500 added weight
alternating with
Leg press calf raises, 5X20-10 @ 100 to 300 added weight
Machine hack squats, 3X12-6 @ BW to 140 added weight
Seated calf raises, 3X15-8 @ 55 to 140

I guess you are dreaming. I can't recall how long ago it was that I wore cut off Levi short shorts, but it must have at least been in the 80's. I do remember nylon running shorts being really popular. I liked how they looked and felt on me and I wore them a lot whenever I could. These days I wear Old Navy baggy shorts unless I am showing off then I wear Under Armor or the like. Hmm, maybe a nice pair of leather shorts would be interesting....now I am dreaming of times past....or in the future when I have wheels like yours.  Smiley

I have a prescription analgesic Voltaren Gel that works great. It's expensive. If I rub some on my knee when I hit the sack, which is any minute now, my knee does not bother me all night long.

That's interesting. Here in Europe they call it Hotice, but it has the same logo as Icy Hot.
I used it yesterday for my left delt, and the pain is gone (thank you, ex gf).
