damn thats crazy.
That same nurse told me that she saw some doctors put maggots in the brain through a hole they drilled thinking that they would eat the diseased part. Some people thought she was full of shit but she was in her 80's and I think a volunteer when I met her. Why would she lie? Even though I was a strapping young buck 25 years ago I enjoyed hearing her stories so I always stopped by her station to chit chat.
nice stories to tell your grandson. Somehow, she was as fucked up as them it seems.

She was a nurse so probably just following orders. As for Grandkids...I don't have any kids to give me some, that I know about anyway...lol. Just me and the misses in mid 40's. Too late to start the baby shit.

I am sure you came to that conclusion after you saw it. No way you knew everything in the plot after 5 minutes of watching. Nope, me and my partner are pretty good at working out film plots. We were watching "sixth sense" and when Willis was sitting on the park bench after being shot, my missus said "is he already dead"? Film was shite after that.

He is mental during the role game, however, this time it worked and he's back to reality. But still, the things he's done are unbearable to live with so he voluntarily chooses for the lobotomy instead of it being forced on him.

My post above yours is Shutter Island to a T anabolichalo, no need to doubt me, it's an easy movie and I'm a genius. For those that don't get Shutter Island, some David Lynch-movies would really end up with them in an asylum I'd venture

Idd. But only in the end. If he really was a marshal I can't remember for certain but I think he was? It's told in the movie. Did you miss everything?

Shutter Island is good, nice ending, but I just felt it was a Silent Hill 2 rip off.
I kinda knew how the movie was going to end because I've played SH 2.

Years ago people with obvious cases of ADD would be looked at as "mental"...Now a lot of these people are the creators of business in the world.

another one is,in "one flew over cuckoo nest", does the tall indian guy get away to live a peacefull life?
and, was he actually mental?we know jack wasnt really mental, he just turne mental in there
The majority of the patients in the mental hospital were there voluntarily. McMurphy was not (sorta). He was sent there in lieu of going to prison for statutory rape. He had a choice per se, but didn't know what he was "signing up" for. Since he was a "troublemaker" and Nurse Rached was losing her "control" over the ward, McMurphy was eventually lobotomized. There really was nothing mentally wrong with him until then. That's why Chief did what he did in the end. He couldn't bear to see his friend like that and knew he wouldn't want to live that way. There was nothing mentally wrong with Chief either. He escaped in the end to fulfill McMurphy's original plan of getting out of there.
GREAT MOVIE

Well.. Depends on who ya ask.. One "theory" put forth by the writer was that Leo is no longer mental but knows he won't have peace ever.. So he opts for the lobotomy.. That is why he just goes to his fate knowingly and willingly.. They, the guards and doctors never say what they are there for.. Yet he goes to them willingly.. Before he does he asks "is it best to live like a monster or die like a man" .. Or something like that.. He knows what is ahead of him and does not want to live with he memories.
I agree with this. At the end, the penny dropped I believe
