Your forearms control the fingers on your hand, when you pull on something when working back your fingers are under great force to keep the bar from slipping out.

If you want to avoid the cramps, use straps...  Although, this may caz your forearms to stop growing in proper relation to your upper arms...

take a hot shower, stretch, stay hydrated, and eat a banana before going to bed. if that doesn't work. then i don't know what will.

and don't use straps. your body will adapt eventually.

Add a sports drink post-workout .  Stretch, up the protein, add a multi-mineral to your post-workout meal.

Throw away the wrist straps.  Stretch.

Keep training hard until ur forarms get strong enough to put up with ur lifts. Obviously u have weak forearms.

thx for the help i dont think it is week forearms i believe it is over worked forearms
if you are familiar with an oldschool machine called the gripper?
it looks like a seated calf machine but it is made for the forearms (its not those bull shit hand squeezers)
i can load 3and sometimes 4 plates on it with the first plate being a 100lbs and the rest being 45s and work out but i also do BJJ every night for 2to 3 hours
and that also kills your forearms and on the days that i do back i also kickbox for 1 hour and then do
BJJ for 2 hours so if i lighten up on all the stress that i am putting on my hands o hope that ,that will help
we will see

again thx all

we had one of these at the first world gym i lifted at years ago...i have yet to see one again.

it worked great in a superset with wrist curls...

Funny, that world gym i spoke of became a 24 hour fitness about 3 years ago. 24 kept the equipment until they moved locations. they took out all the good stuff when they moved about 3 miles down the road. went from 3 squat racks to 1, went from 4 power racks to 1...sucks

i found a new local gym that is great, lots of old school guys there.

well at this 24hr i think that they wanted to getrid of some of the older stuff ,but they were not going to
replace it with newer versions of the same equipment, so a lot of the old heads raised a fuss, so the gym
just left it the way it is ,and recovered and painted it....
but they got rid of a lot of the 100lbs plates because the ladies complaned about jackasses leaving them
on the the equipment not putting them back on the racks.......

Crazy, they did the exact same thing at the one i mentioned! this wasn't on the west side of houston was it?...lol

i remember looking for the 100's to place on the hack machine and they were in the back...i asked the person at the desk and they told me the new management didn't want anyone to hurt themselves attempting to move them.
