Benched 505 with one of those straight jacket bench shirts I'm sure. Power lifting and bodybuilding has gone to hell. Power lifting with all the cheat gear and shallow squats. Bodybuilding with all the bloat cosmetic drug muscles. It seems Olympic lifting where you put it over your head or you don't is the only strength sport worth any praise.

I found that doing leg presses first, followed by squats on the Smith machine produced the best results!
absolutely......i agree.....leg press....smith squats.....leg extensions and stiff leg deadlifts for the hamstrings.

both are great exercises.. but i like Barbell squats flat footed and get better results than leg press. I do not believe the notion (largely popularized by Vince Gironda, although his charges did smith machine squats and hack squats) that full Barbell squats give you overdeveloped Buttocks,hips,waist and "carrot" shaped thighs !!

It all depends on foot position and how high you hold the bar on your neck.  Hold the bar low and feet wide, definitely hits butt and hips, hold it high and feet closer, let the knees travel toward the end of the toes and you will hit the quads.  To cover all the bases I squat and then do leg press.  Do the leg press super slow, take about three seconds to descend, and go in the twenty five rep range.  Four plates will feel like seven.

Exactly. No woman has ever bench pressed 505. FtM transsexuals are not women. And using one of these straight jackets is no different than squatting with a huge spring under your ass. Don't call it a bench press.

i start with leg press just about every leg workout and then follow with squats ect,,,sometimes finish with hi rep leg press,,i love training legs and switch up every workout....

I used to do these a lot very heavy, but its a pain in the ass to set up. you need a loading pin, a squat rack to lean against, 2 reebok steps, a small box to put the pin on and a spotter to pull it out and put it back in.

great lift but impossible to do in most gyms

OK, Are squats better for building muscle on your legs? overall yes, however some people build better with leg presses, it depends on the person, but 7 out of 10 people will find better results with squats.
