A school teacher in Newnan, Georgia was suspended after chasing students during a game and pretending to shoot them. Sometimes the way a lesson is taught is just as important as the message it is trying to convey. A teacher at Odyssey School in Newnan, Ga., has been suspended after chasing first-grade students in a hide-and-seek game and pretending to shoot them. The teacher, who has not been identified, was conducting a lesson designed to teach kids about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., officials at the school said. “There are things that you can and can't do, and it shows, if nothing else, that you just can't do security off the cuff. You have to train and prepare for it,” Andy Geeter, school system director, told Fox5 Atlanta. His hand held like a pistol, the teacher ran after the students and yelled, “You’re dead” at those he had pretended to shoot. Some of the 6- and 7-year-old students reported having nightmares after the lesson, the school said.
