Medicare/Medicaid are ENTITLEMENTS.

Welfare/Section 8/Food Stamps are ENTITLEMENTS.

What SS/Medicare/Medicaid are paying out are far outstripping what people are putting in.  The total amount that people put in over the course of their working lives will never match the amount that they use when they become older or become disabled.

The US cannot much longer afford these entitlements and payouts in addition to maintaining a "world police" via the Defense budget.  Simply increasing taxes on the rich will not close any budgetary gaps. 

Over half the population are being subsidized on some government payout.  Americans believe that somehow, whether it be through God or government, that they have rights to something that they did not fully pay into.

I've paid into SS for the last 35 years.  How does that make it an entitlement?

You seem to be rambling or else you have no idea what a civil war actually is. A civil war is a war between organized groups within the same nation state or republic. Last time I checked, China was a different nation from us. If there is a civil war in the U.S. in the next 5 years, which groups would it be between?

Perhaps you are thinking of a revolution, such as the French Revolution 1789-1799, when there was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. Amidst a fiscal crisis, the common people of France were increasingly angered by the incompetency of King Louis XVI and the continued indifference and decadence of the aristocracy. With the level of animosity we sometimes see today by the 99% towards the 1%, some manner of a revolution seems more likely then a civil war. Although, you could hardly compare the 1% today with the aristocrats during the French Revolution nor the 99% with the common folk (huddled masses) today, in my opinion.

Why would there be a need for the U.S. military to shoot and possibly kill civilians (Americans) unless we were under martial law for some reason. Martial law is the imposition of military rule by military authorities over designated regions on an emergency basis, in case you didn't already know this. A few of the several times martial law was invoked in the past in the U.S. were, during the American Revolution, the Civil War, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, The San Francisco earthquake of 1906, and following hurricane Katrina.

As for the President ruining the country, there were detractors who have said this about every U.S. President to hold office. Unfortunately, many people find complaining easier then actually doing something constructive, like getting themselves elected to office or at least actively supporting/campaigning for candidates who better represent their ideals.

America is somewhat different from ancient Rome or Egypt. Although the Roman government (in its entire history from founding to fall) was a strange mix of a democracy and a republic, there are distinct differences between those times and these. Ancient Egyptian Government was dominated by a single man, the Pharaoh. The people believed that the king was more than a man, however, but that he was a god. This gave him absolute control over the affairs of the Empire and its people.

Both ancient Egypt and ancient Rome depended on slavery to survive and prosper. There are those today who may think they are treated like slaves in the U.S., but I seriously doubt the comparison would hold water. The U.S. has been dubbed a superpower for sometime, I suspect as the world gets smaller, this will cease to be so, at least as we've come to know it. I don't believe our country is necessarily doing anything wrong, it is just that the world is ever evolving.  Most change is good, although most people fear it.

By the way, it is human nature to want to succeed, and to be respected.  It is absolutely wrong to dismiss the motives of others in such a sweeping way.  Absolutely, completely WRONG.  It's called elitism, and it is destroying this world.  Don't take away opportunities for people, then complain because the people aren't performing.  There is limited wealth on this planet, and we have to be real about what's "hard earned" and what is not hard earned--because if we don't, we will be left with a very dangerous situation in which the most degenerated people are holding all the effective wealth.  Very fucking dangerous, and completely unnecessary.
