They are slowly. Qatar and Saoudi Arabia are the fiercest enemies of Iran right now and most specialists know very well what is going on in Yemen, Irak, Syria and Lebanon right now between shiites and sunnis. It is actually on.
I know, I was actually referring to the Iraq-Iran war. So in a sense it's not now on, it has been on and off for decades already, declared or otherwise.

Uh oh, looks like the libtards are getting nervous early. Haha. Whatever it takes to get the loser we have now , out.

This is why it is impossible to take you seriously.  "As long as my guy is in office I don't care about the results" is the mentality that has destroyed America.

The hypocrisy is that you go to great lengths to point out this flaw in Democrats.

At the time, Irak was actually far from playing the religious card, knowing that Husein was a sunni but the shiite community was larger if you don't include the kurds (who Husein butchered as they were hostile to him). Now, it's between Saoudis, Qataris and Iran.

History lessons are a long time ago for me... Wasn't there a fear that the revolution in Iran would spark Shia unrest within Iraq?

[edit] Checked wikipedia: that was it. The rest of the dynamics escapes me, and I don't feel like reading all of it. Reading another book right now.

Yes, it was. That's why Kowet and Saoudi Arabia alongside France, GB and the US backed the war which was started by Iraq. Husein was promised a larger acces to the persian gulf. Idiot thought that a 16 mill population could win a war against 60. But he actually played the nationalist card and not the Sunni one as not to have an shiite uprising. What is happening now is more clearly grounded in religious differences between shiites and sunnis. And also the fact that deeply Iranians hate Arabs. Way much more than this histrionic beef with Israel.

On a related note: Didn't know until last week that the Hindi and Farsi word for wrestler is both pehlwan. :)

Persian and Hindi are both indo-european languages. There's a lot of words in common. Even now, you have Iranians who insist on not using any "imported" arabic words.

Not even close, bud. If you can't see how we're getting destroyed than I can't help you....nobody can!
