I'm a dabbler at best.  I like the Bel Canto style that I've heard (couldn't name a composer), Mozart's stuff appeals, Verdi's tunes get me.  Wagner seems like one of those guys that you need a profound understanding of Germanic myth, literature, musical history, and probably the finer points of the language, to actually appreciate it and not just sit staring at, and I don't have any of that.  It's inaccessible to me.  He's big on the motive.  Boom, the extent of my knowledge on Wagner.

Except for Syntax, I doubt you'll find a getbigger who comes close, man.  I'd be amazed we haven't had an Apocalypse Now post except maybe 1/10 even knows the composer.  This reminds me of the time I asked Getbig for advice on hydraulic power transmission.  Turns out we don't know everything. 

Except me, of course, within reason.
