Anyone can google, I wanted opinions from like minded getbiggers.
I'm a dabbler at best. I like the Bel Canto style that I've heard (couldn't name a composer), Mozart's stuff appeals, Verdi's tunes get me. Wagner seems like one of those guys that you need a profound understanding of Germanic myth, literature, musical history, and probably the finer points of the language, to actually appreciate it and not just sit staring at, and I don't have any of that. It's inaccessible to me. He's big on the motive. Boom, the extent of my knowledge on Wagner.
Except for Syntax, I doubt you'll find a getbigger who comes close, man. I'd be amazed we haven't had an Apocalypse Now post except maybe 1/10 even knows the composer. This reminds me of the time I asked Getbig for advice on hydraulic power transmission. Turns out we don't know everything.
Except me, of course, within reason.
