The reason there is already a conspiracy to cover up any evidence of alien intelligence. Talk about aliens again has that knee jerk reaction that causes you to think UFO's and grays, but that is very far from rational. The reality is proof of alien intelligence will likely be in the form of radio signals. If you think this is just opinion it's not proof is Government agencies such as seti have been scanning the sky for decades. With our new found evidence for earth like planets( ranking in hundred of millions if not billions) just within our own galaxy it's obvious that the chance of life being out there is tremendously high. This isn't hidden information and is out in the open. The question isn't could we intercept signals from alien intelligence it's whether or not the disclosure channels would work as they should or would this information be kept under wraps. So I ask if an alien signal 300 lightyears away exposed how to cheaply create enriched uraninum would the government cover this up or not.
