    The Russians don't even have 26 active subs.  A fleet of 26 subs would cost hundreds of billions to buy and maintain.

Serious underestimation of North Korean strength in this thread.

They are strong enough to potentially take the South or at least do massive damage.

However, after that America, UN, Japan and everyone will attack them.

The only way NK could pull it off is if China then floods Korea with allied troops or China and Russia vouch to support them militarily to allow for a negotiated solution.

The United States fought them and China, 60+ years ago. Military capabilities on both sides have changed since then, and not in a remotely commensurate fashion. That the current U.S. military swept aside the strongest army in the Middle East in 3 weeks' time and with under 150 casualties ought to give you a fair indication of what the N Koreans are facing. Further -- as matty pointed out -- the U.S. and China are tied at the hip economically and it is extremely unlikely China would be willing to undergo the Pyrrhic economic effects of intervening on behalf of N Korea.
