You're right. Most of those lifts are done in the clown feds though.
Where you get a half-squat passed, get to use multiple ply's, the monolift, and such. Sure. Then it is 950 lbs.
Not to mention they allow for use of juice in these feds.
And I never said the guy at my club was world class either. I was merely wondering about the guys who were 200 lbs and doing 600lbs squats at only's gym.
What I referred to was a raw lift. If you're under 200 lbs and squat 600 lbs, the equipment will add around 100-180 lbs in the IPF, depending on the individual, making it a squat up in the middle-high 700's. That will put the lifter up among the top squatters in the world in the 198 lbs class. Not number one, but definitely as one of the top ranked lifters.
The guy who is in the 242 class and lifting at my club is not world class, but very good. Squatting a raw double with 600 lbs, weighing 227lbs.. That's very impressive IMO.
