The Power Pit

Onlyme, did you ever train at the power pit in Hawaii?  This guy I know used to train there and he said thats where all the strongest gys trained in Hawaii at the time.

The Power Pit was in Pearl City HI and I too had a friend that trained there.

I asked Onlyme about it last yerayear and Only said it was history.........

That was before I moved here but Stuntmovie knows everything about that gym.  And yes it was the hardcore gym here back then.  I think a friend of mine named Mike Scoot owned it.  He moved a while back to the east coast where he is from.  A great guy.  Yes it was in Pearl City

Mike Scott and Gary Watanabe owned the Power Pit. Both great guys. Mike returned to Martha's Vineyard a while back and Gary is still in Hawaii/

The original Powerpit was above a pretty nice restaurant in Pearl City so you had to be careful in order to keep the diners as calm as possible.

They eventually gave up on that location moved up the road to a warehouse that was way more appropriate.

In his day, Mike was a great Olympic Lifter and then got into Powerlifting too. He was also a national PL Judge.

Ernie Santiago trained at the PowPit and so did Ray Longo.

Good times back them.
