Police suck, bad boy dazza is quite extreme in his hatred, but there are good reasons citizens no longer trust the Police. Of course the Police are going to deny their corruption, their bias, their deceit, their abuse of power. I recently was a witness to an assault and had a detective come and interview me, he was OK, but when I questioned him about some of the more well known controversial shootings, he minimised it all and basically said they always get what's coming to them, that they are always the good guys and never get it wrong, I could tell if pressed he would have gotten narky and defensive. I have seen police lie bold face in Court, they are no different than the criminals, they will say and do whatever it takes to get their own way. They play the system just as well as any career criminal. I am on the side of bad boy Dazza, I have experienced for more criminal behaviour from police than good. And I don't think it is a matter of bad apples, but a fucked up culture.
You see the same defensiveness in all power structures, whether it be the Muslims, the Catholic Church or the Police, rather than take responsibility for the groups bad behaviour and fix the problem, they look for scapegoats and minimise and deny the reality of the situation. Sad really.
