Would someone really need a crystal ball or intelligence to be right at guessing a politician was corrupt?
I told you all something was wrong before the primaries, LOL! When I told friends something was off they all thought it was cynicism, being conservative, or just breaking balls. Without a doubt, he and I have very different ideas about exercise of my freedoms and the direction America should go in. My amusement with 333's jihad stems from the fact that he never once posted anything substantive to back up the initial paranoia.
Another part of the problem is people aren't honest with themselves about the extent to which the President's race affects their perception on some issues. That's very different than actually being racist, but not for political means. I'm hopeful, though: In 20, 30, 40, or 50 years the conditions may actually exist for us to consider thinking about discussing race.
It was patently obvious he was going to be President the moment McCain/Palin was announced. We all knew they never had a chance, LOL! That week I was teasing some black members (through PM) here about how bad it was going to be for white people to see him as President. It would have been great if I was wrong about that one, too.
You don't need a crystal ball, but 33 was out in front of most people about this guy. He has actually posted a lot of facts to back up the allegations of corruption and incompetence.
I don't agree about the race stuff. We elected an unqualified half black man president. Then we reelected an unqualified half black man with a horrible record. And then if you look at how the media coddled him, and the percentage of the white vote overall that he got in this country, I think the race issue is out the window.
I talk to a lot of people about politics and about the president and race is not a factor. I know that's anecdotal, but I think my experience is probably consistent with what happens across the country. Yes there are bigots out there, but racism isn't the reason people don't like the man. He's just a lousy president.
