You picked the wrong time and place loser.  Always for a company function that includes liquor.  Company picnics or Christmas parties, get her a little lubed up on cheap wine then swoop in using your charm.  If things don't pan out you can always say you had a drink too many and so did she so you can just use that as an excuse and move on.
