Protein and carbs have a higher thermic effect than fat.....therefore, a calorie is not a calorie.

Well I thought you were saying that if a person eats one meal of 2000 c then he would not absorb the food macros. Yes it may be true of what you are saying and it also have a lot to do with the kind of food too.
we've bumped heads a few times so if I am annoying just tell me to shut up  :D  ;)

in cal equivalent quantities.

Lets see if your weight will stay the same. Please document it with pictures. Thank you. (and no "wire me money first then I will do that" bs, if you believe your theory then it would be peace of cake, otherwise you are just trolling).

Let's rephrase that for you:  If "a calorie is a calorie" then substitute all your protein intake for oil. I dare you, all the believers of the "calorie is a calorie" theory, change your diet and take all your calories from oil. Oils like olive oil are healthy and there is lots of calories in them. Go for it, and let us know how it end. You will soon realize that your theory sucks, and that your stomach works quite fine.

That's not the theory.  It's always been you get your macros and protein, then the rest of the calories between that and your defined total intake amount don't matter, in terms of weight loss.

???

So you are saying I have to eat other things not made up of calories?  ???  What is this mystery substance that you speak of?  What sort of sorcery is this?

HA HA....I was thinking the same thing.  BY THE GODS!!!!  We shall dine in Valhalla tonight before you see us eating our calories alone.

Protein and carbs have a higher thermic effect than fat.....therefore, a calorie is not a calorie.

So, please answer this one.  If you take 10cal worth of protein and then 10cal worth of carbs.  Are you saying the calories aren't the same?

Let's rephrase that for you:  If "a calorie is a calorie" then substitute all your protein intake for oil. I dare you, all the believers of the "calorie is a calorie" theory, change your diet and take all your calories from oil. Oils like olive oil are healthy and there is lots of calories in them. Are you female?  That phrase comes out of females' mouths a lot.

i am training couple girls too, and oh brother how they lie hahahahaha.i got examples.

ok they dont want be in contest shape, they just want visible abs and lines and maybe some leg mass etc.

so, yeah, some have asked if its ok to have "1 or 2" drinks when clubbing out, i say its not the best thing but yeah, ok do have 2 drinks then on the weekend, then sometimes we go out together and they get so drunk they cant even stand on their own anymore hahaha ;D

and have that 1 drink anyway almosr every day, however i must say if women are dedicated, they more strict than men, the one mentioned just fasts after the drinking and actually has nixe abs by now.

and another example when i said typical meal should be dry chicken with very little carbs and maybe little bit sauce on it, that other girl was like "yeah ok understood" and then i seen her meal, she ate it bfore my eyes as if i should be roud or something.it was chicken with the fatty skin, way too many carbs and the stuff was swimming in oil and butter,i mean literally swiming.on top of that, shed eat the dressing while soaking it uo in bread.

haha,women ar ehillarious ;D

kinda...
feel out when one is full of glycogen is important too imo.
and to use protein as fixed number is bit risky.the more carbs one has the less protein should be eaten i think.

but yeah, thats solid enough approach.
:D That's funny.

They swear up and down and then get caught in the act.

As for protein of course carbs go up, protein goes down, carbs go down protein goes up, very simple and basic.

now eating nothing but ice cream in a calorie deficit may get you to 7% but say good bye to your muscle.

and on top of that, women and weak men notoriously lie when dieting, they munch on oreos between regular clean meals and dont count them, when the oreos make out most the calories hahaha ;D

and they dont try for long enough.

the first couple days one dont even loses fat only water.and after that things go slowly,if a guy is over 12% he will not see much difference in the mirror, maybe every 2 weeks there will be a difference.

on top of that, the scale is very misleading, eating something too salty or many carbs at once can lead to weight gain 10lbs overnight pretty much, then they thinbk they hit a plateau when its just water.
the scale discourages them and they binge out of frustration.

staying mentaly hard and focussed is all in this dieting matter.

these day, ppl are very weak.very soft, they dont even have slightest idea what it takes to get shredded.

and yes the body will absolutely somewhat decrease the calories needed after a while, the leaner one wants to become, towards the end of dieting, itll be very little food one can take in.

maintaining however is the glorious part, one can get away with ridiculous seeming diet once hes there.

i never understood why competitive bbuilders after the show blow themselves up like michelin man, i mean i understand the first few days after, but if they return to eating somewhat clean after, theyd be very near contest shape all the time.
ok, they are relatively near it, but you know what i mean 10% on gear can look kinda obese due to massive water retention.
and 10% on non training guy looks leaner than 10% on bodybuilder.bc its more fat ;D

Couldn't agree more with this.

The biggest problem is when people embark on a diet, with only 20% of the information they need. As soon as they hit a couple of bumps in the road, the classic "I just can't lose weight" or "I need to sign up to an expensive boot camp" comes out of their mouths, when in reality, all they needed to do was adjust their eating for next couple of days to be back on track.

are you saying you don't know what the word "alone" means?

Also, its not the point of the post, but salt must be a mystery substance for you?

these "debates" don't make any sense.

a calorie is a unit of measure not something that can be eaten.

hope this helps

We established my face is busted.  What does that have to do with the discussion?

No, I don't eat like Adam, but that doesn't mean that I don't agree with it.  As far as "the anabolics" go...I am very open about how much, how often, and even when I started.  Not like it will make a difference.  I will re-iterate what I have done.  In 2011 I elected to go on HRT with 100mg of Test Cyp under the guidance of my doctor.  Last year I had my blood work done, I discussed it with my doctor and she upped the dose to 200mg/wk.  I changed doctors last year around August and continuesd on the same regiment up until December.  I haven't been on anything for the last few months.  I don't feel like paying the $$$$ for a new exam.  Considering getting some UG stuff, but I am apprehensive because I don't think I want to take a chance on legitimacy of it.

Feel better Alex?  I am lean overall...not just abs.  Just an FYI

saying a calorie is a calorie is the same as saying a gram is a gram or a degree is a degree

Because it is.  1lb of lead = 1lb of feathers.  Are you the type that says muscle weighs more than fat?

thats all I needed to hear, thanks.

And no, even Adam doesnt eat like he posts on this board. Actually, since he is an experienced cooker, Its safe to assume he is much more picky when choosing his ingredients than anyone in here.

does 1lb of lead have the same value than 1lb of feathers? No, does 100 cals of protein have the same value for the body than 100 cals of marshmellow?? no. So trying to over simplificate things to look cool/rebel is useless at best, dangerous at worst.

Value?
You need to define "value"

ok but define "define" first so I can "define" "value" according to your "definition"
