What do you do if you overeat your calories in a day ie you were aiming for let's say 2500 kCal, and you ate double that?

Do you eat less the next day? Fast? Exercise / do more activity?

I think all approaches are fine, since they force you to keep your total cals in check.

Whatever fits your psyche best. For some that might be keto, carb cycling, intermittent fasting etc...

If you are not interested in body composition then tracking macros is no doubt unnecessary. But the majority of peer reviewed studies suggest that higher protein diets enable you to hold onto more lean mass while losing same/similar overall weight as other macro breakdown diets.

I want to acheive a complete mental breakdown; complete loss of ego, clarity, memory, inhibitions etc - but I only have 4 dollars?

Doesn`t happen, but if it did I would just continue the next day at whatever calories you were eating.  So just go back to 2500 or whatever your caloric amount is.

Do you just eyeball your portion sizes? Or do you weigh it all out?

not optimal, but diet on mainly protein, trace fats and only sugars for carbs can and will work.

if one can pull it off,that is

yes , i think any diet with a calorie deficit will 'work' but i don't agree with the notion that you will look the same if you diet on 1500cals of mcdonalds and doughnuts a day as you will on a 1500 cal clean high protein diet. if that is what the op is suggesting (maybe i have misunderstood).

if assisted i would imagine you could get away with more as the hormones are making your body want to hold onto muscle at all costs, i would have thought macro breakdown would be even more important for naturals.

I use USDA site as they are the most accurate or use information on packages as that is most accurate.  I use a scale and obviously you don`t have to use a scale for things like Fast Food.  Couldn`t be any easier.
