Do more drugs, lift lighter weight for more sets.

I couldn't train legs for most of this year my knee was so fucked.. And after a month back I squatted 405 x10 a couple days ago .. high bar, deep as possible and it felt great.

Take some time off legs and watch them shrink, that'll remind you why you train them.

Go for the burn, do some lunges and leg extensions. Pain and exertion are not directly linked. If you can trigger a pain response without the exertion levels, this will lower over all CNS disruption.

You feel like shit bc you're psyching yourself up like that.  Very stressful on the cns.  If you have to pump yourself up to do a set, the weights are too heavy.

The weights should be enough to stimulate growth, not so much that you need king Ronnie himself shouting in your ear to lift them
i use fairly light weight but use very good form and high reps so it is heavy in the end

Instead of doing all that shit try sprinting..it builds decent legs and conditioning and doesn't make you unable to walk or sit down
