The problem with tackling the issue can be seen in this thread. Too much extremism on one side leads to a backlash on the other. Even intelligent people forget the issue and start talking about history, statistics, incarceration rates etc etc....taking one thing and calling it another. The problem has to be dealt with head on.

Problems in black communities are self evident, no need to waste time proving the problems exist. Black civic leaders, parents, educators and politicians needs to be able to talk about it rationally. Seems simple but it's not. Just read through this thread.

It was painful for them to even care that much. In instances of white on black violence, even when the motive is clearly not race, these two demigogues will work overtime to ensure there is a racial bias. In this event how quick they are to dismiss it.

Hypocrisy.  Attempts to overstate the problem of white on black violence while ignoring the real problem, black on white crime.  Creating a media circus over an anomaly(trayvon) but barely a peep from the anti-racism industry when the victim isn't black.  If they do decide speak up, they rationalize the murder, downplaying or outright ignoring the racial aspect.

No its not ironic at all. Good deeds are done everyday and the news never reports on it because it doesn't sell. Trust me I know.

Im not so sure it's the lack of coverage but the lack of outrage and the lack of responsibility, the lack of call for responsibility. You are quick to post this story as an excuse for the behavior of others but you don't address the behavior of others. Do you somehow expect the actions of this woman to excuse the actions of others?

This wasn't a "good deed" this was a heroic act that likely saved many lives
