Yeah but Jones was posing a threat to Gustafsson during almost the whole fight.
I agree
Jones not as impressive when fighting someone closer to his own size a reach. he is still a skilled fighter though and showed heart.
Yes. I had Jones the winner in a tough fight. he landed all of the punches that anyone will remember
. he landed all of the punches that anyone will remember
Yeah but that's not how you score a fight.
but mma shouldn't be scored like boxing.
It shouldn't which is why repeatedly stuffing take downs should carry some kind of weight.
Good point. If you get credit for take downs than blocking them should be taken into account as well. (EDIT: I changed my mind...successful or unsuccseful takedowns should have no bearing. Should be about what happens when on the ground that matters)Jones did land some killer elbows but the viking took them like a champ. In the end jones' face was a lot more FUCKED UP that gustaff's...should they take that into account as well?? NO... so I agree with what che is saying.
Besides the last minute of the 4th round, where else did you see this? The Swede got Jones down, something which no one has ever done. The Swede busted up Jones' right eye and mouth, something which no one has ever done. The Swede managed to stuff 99% of Jones' takedown attempts (with only one takedown occuring in the 4th round for under ten seconds). The Swede outclasses Jones by way of his boxing, something which no one has ever done.I don't know man, but I think the Swede took it."1"
effective aggressiveness.you can make all the right moves and have great ring generalship..if it doesn't pay off with significant scored blows...who cares.that's my opinion, I don't pretend to know boxing like you.
I prefer the way the fights were judged in Japan.
fights are judged as an entirety in japan, where in the 10 point system, each round is judged as a fight within itself and tallied up at the end.
and after the 3rd round he was basically in survivorship mode and thats precisely why he blew his chance
gustafsson has heart but he has pillow in his hands too, and after the 3rd round he was basically in survivorship mode and thats precisely why he blew his chance to get the belt after the first two hot rounds.
