But try living in San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, Miami Beach, FL or Henderson, NV and then tell me you're doing pretty good. Rent of $2,500 a month - $30,000 per year - isn't unrealistic in any of those places; hell, a friend of mine lives in San Francisco and rents a 1 bedroom, ~700 square foot apartment in the Financial District for $3,750 per month... that's $45,000 per year. If he made $50,000 per year he wouldn't be doing "pretty good". He'd be starving even if he had no other expenses.

So how about you stop generalizing and get back to peddling pills and shitty workout equipment over the Interwebs?
