Overall just about every lift goes to king Coleman

From 2000-2005 strength was unmatched

He was strong in every lift

Nobody can do bench 200lbs dumbell like this form and reps.

id hope so, dude just looked scary strong.

Ive heard hes pretty much the only guy that could train with Ronnie at his peak and match the poundages, perhaps not the reps but the weight for sure. His bench was supposedly 500+ for reps, shoulder presses 400+ for reps etc.

Lb for Lb def Franco. Even Francos Pull-up form was great. MMost pros are all burnt out on pull-ups when they get older but franco could still do mad pull-ups with the widest grip I have seen Then of course the weights he lifted. Most of the time franco lifted just normal light weight and lift for cutts, but franco could def go heavy in his prime.

Well, I hit a set of 31 (my all-time best) without drugs, so to imagine Platz could at one time nail 50 isn't too impossible. Not that the feat isn't amazing, because it most definitely is.

Here I am doing 25 after a monster bench-press session preceded by a six-hour car ride:

Great squatting Rob,form and depth on every rep.

This is Platz doing 325 for 30 reps and was done years after his best.On ironage Dr Amaduri has spoken about the times he would see Tom do 50 reps with 315.

these are NOT 45s... hope this helps.

You are right. Those are bumper plates. They could be 25lbs or 35lbs plates.

Im putting this dude on the list. Chris Cormier said that he witnessed Mike Quinn using 500LB on Barbell Rows. I believe Cormier said it was 10 reps with decent form.

So, my list is:

Ronnie, Francois, Levrone, Quinn, Cormier
I trained with Quinn in the mid 80's in Gold's gym in Sunrise Fl! He was very strong, used the whole weight stack for lat pull downs! He had one of the thickest widest backs of all time!

Ronnie Coleman
Stan is a "bodybuilder"
Coleman was 5 and a half weeks out dead lifting 800 rowing 585
Stan when down to that condition isn't as strong as Coleman
Coleman was also mr I
That's about as bodybuilder as you yet so Coleman by a country mile

Stan has a 2300 raw total.

Ronnie would never sniff that at his biggest and strongest offseason mode.

stay is easily the strongest bber ever.

Jon Paul sigmason also had a pro card.

however, I'd say Ronnie is the strongest or regular competing bber

One guy I forgot about. Svend Karlsen. He has an IFBB Pro card. Obviously very strong, he won world strongest man in 2001.

Quote from: wiki

Svend started out as a powerlifter in 1986, winning a number of titles and setting 30 Norwegian records, 3 European records, and 1 world record. Soon after, Svend began pursuing a career in bodybuilding. He traveled on the road doing posing exhibitions with some bodybuilding friends to help pay the bills. Svend won the Mr. Norway title, and took second place at the World Games. This victory earned him his IFBB pro card and he could now compete as a professional. Svend moved to California to focus on his bodybuilding career, and his first pro show was the IFBB Night of Champions. Svend suffered a severe muscle tear that forced him to retire from bodybuilding, and in 1996 he quickly moved on to strongman competitions.

But Stan is easily the strongest now active bb. Like IceCold said, Ronnie wasn't even close, even in full off-season mode. From what I've seen on youtube Stan is very lean so you can't say he couldn't lift what Ronnie did during contest prep.

in 3 powerlifting moves.

Yes, three movements determined long ago as the best to gauge an individual's overall strength and power. Besides that which is tested with squat, bench press and deadlift, what else is there of relevance? Biceps? Of no relative importance, really. Calves, in their capacity to contract from a fully-stretched position? And besides, these muscles play a supporting role in the three lifts, anyway.

No true strength athlete/expert will ever give a rat's ass about what someone can cable fly, lat pulldown/chin, biceps curl, calf press, leg press, leg extension, lateral raise, etc.

its almost a contradiction..... weight should mean nothing to a BB.

but, seems like the truly great freaks all lifted as heavy as they could.

Colemaj and Yates both lifted extremely heavy.

Yates was not strong given his bodyweight

dont think anyone is talking about lb for lb strength.
