The person isn't really known as a drug guru. It was John Romano.
I thought John is the wanker from the alley of 43rd St. in New York

Why would a pro bodybuilder take drug advice from a dumbass like Romano? that boggles the mind.

Potassium unbalance is serious business. Tha's what the lethal injection consists of:Potassium Chloride. You're dead in seconds.

Furosemide blocks the NKCC transporter in the ascending loop of Henle thus preventing reabsorption of water (which follows the solutes back into the nephron by osmosis). Very simple mechanism of action.

You are right when you say Paul may well have won that show. It was probably the best he looked in his career. Sad thing was that he did not need the extra duretics that night.

what exactly happend he froze how
If I remember correctly, he started his posing routine as normal, started hitting poses, but his muscles started cramping and he couldn't "unflex" his muscles. He just froze completely.

Wasnt it hypoglycemia that made Paul collapse? That was another incident years later. Chad took the blame for "not being in his room watching him eat enough".

Wasnt it hypoglycemia that made Paul collapse? He almost went into hypoglycaemic coma a few years later from taking too much insulin without enough carbs. I used to quote that years ago on the steroid info board to try and stop young and/or inexperienced BB's thinking about messing with insulin. Regarding the lasix(frusemide), 40mg is a small dose for a large man so if that's all he took then he must have alreadt taken plenty of other diuretics in the preceeding days and have been very dehydrated. We use it to control high blood pressure and for patient with heart failure. In emergencies when patient can't breathe from so much fluid on their lungd(pulmonary oedema) I have given little old ladies 80mg IV stat and then another 40 to 80 and hour or 2 later. The Doc

yes , that was me. I remember two things. his whole body was very stiff making it diffcult to get in good position to move him. While we were massaging the abs, there was a spot below them, maybe 2" x 3 " that was hard as granite . I told Paul he had a hernia. You can see where he was grabbing in one of the pictures about the spot he was holding. A couple of years later he told me he indeed had one.

That wasn't from diuretics, it was from insilin. He took way to much before going on stage. PB

I remember those pics all to well. It's a shame Paul never pulled himself together and made something of his career instead of always being the one with the potential but never the winner.
