The FX is a much smaller version of the x6 though. The ceiling is too low in the front and even lower in the back. Plus the exterior design isn't up to par with the x6. What kind of car do you drive now.

gotta few now. ls430, q45 & a Tahoe. girls drives the g35.

i'm not a fan of crossover suv's, but if I had to get one, i'd probably get an FX.

I'd trade them all for an M45 (me), and M37 (her) and a qx56 (me).

OP-

love the x6. if you get it you gotta go with the M tires and rim package. the staggered stance and the wide rubber in the back really set it off. if your going to spend 60k on the car, invest another 10% in it and do the shoes up proper cause as simply as it seems they truly do make or break how good your ride looks..

Okay...well two questions for ya. What kind of car do you currently drive and which SUV do you prefer over the x6.

Just sold my 07 vette & back into my trusty 2007 tacoma for winter
Spring time looking to get back into a vette or z06?

I rented a gmc yukon & drove chicago to Florida 2 months ago. If I had reason to buy an SUV id buy one in a heart beat. Decent mpg, reliable proven motor, if shit breaks it's cheap to fix etc

Tony, I think me and you have pretty much the same mind set about this car. I was looking into the V6, because the V8 might drink too much gas to the point where it might not even be worth taking for a drive everywhere. Speaking of the electrical maybe the car had battery problems or a shortage somewhere in the engineering. Either way if you dont mind me asking, not to get too personal but how much were you on the monthly lease and how much down did you put. Another thing I love about the car is the beefy rear and front tires, look sick!

Fuel, yes it used a lot. Most V8s do so I knew what I was in for.
Electrical, I took it in 5 times and they could not fix it or explain.
Cost, cars in Australia are about double the cost in USA, with taxes, duties and other govt add ons. I leased it over 4 years witha 30% residual.  I won't post exact payments here but will say it was $AU135,000 as a demo with 2500kms on clock.

I also loved the look of it, shape, rear, tires etc. I don't like X5s they are very common here and I wanted something a little different.

I have had an X6 for the last 3 years. It was the V8 twin turbo, every option. Overall a very comfortable car. Very quick and handled well for a big car. People either love them or hate them, some people not into the shape. I liked it from the first day I saw it.
The only problem I had was electrical, it would always drain the battery and then I could not watch the TV or listen to the radio if I was parked anywhere.

Just traded it in 4 weeks ago on a new car, no regrets.
That is one of the best I have seen.

It seems like you're not into SUV's, and that's fine. Which bmw series do you like, or currently have.

Range Rover sport current

Past BMW's have been x5, e36 m3, 330i, 550i m sport

Also had a few porsche cayman S, and the cayenne S

IMO nothing beats the Range Rover in class, looks and overall badass! One of the best off roaders if u want to go off road

I like the looks and prestige of the rover's... but every client I have who's had one hates them. says it's a 'cascade of problems'. once one sensor goes, it's in the shop and they're driving a loaner discovery II for a week.. get the car back, then a month later something else goes, and it's a loaner discovery II again for a week, and so on.

one client wanted to give me his '06 RR sport for $6k.. I declined. nice truck too... on 22's. but the 9mpg is brutal.

Years ago I went for a ride in a 325i, was an awesome car. Decent poke and handled like a go kart even from the factory. A mate has just finished building one as a circuit car, am seriously considering doing the same.

Still a decent motor, had reasonable torque and super smooth (back then anyway). You could always buy a 318i, rip out the old asthmatic 4banger donk and drop something else in, that's what I'd do.

That's true  ;D luckily I never had any issues with mine, it's an 2010 bought new. Thinking of getting the new one that just came out, but I try to never touch first yr models, very tempting and just drop dead gorgeous  :o

Wow! 6k for a 2006?? Should have turned around and sold it  ;D
