But these are self made millionaires I'm talking about. The ones who built up from the ground up...not inheritance.

Isn't Bill Gates a self made millionaire? Ever hear of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation?

You'd have to define work. Actually there are a lot of folks, including me, who keep busy by volunteering and such. It is hardly work though.

Yes that stuff too. Its like they have to stay busy and involved. Always on move even when they have nowhere to go.

Speaking for myself, I still have a lot of me time which I enjoy too. Volunteering is fun and keeps me active. It isn't like work because I don't have to do it if I don't want to.

Oh I don't know, ask Bill how many hours he spends working verses just doing the stuff he likes to do. If it is work to give away billions of dollars then I guess he works pretty darn hard.

Billionaires are a bit different than lower level millionaires the later of which I was speaking of.

Of course! Does this make a difference? I mean if he were only a self made millionaire would he be working more?

You win, because you are right. I bow to you and your wisdom in this case.

I'm not sure we're arguing. Hard to tell with some people and their style of debate.

"You win" is a figure of speech. I could have just as easily typed the word touché. I don't think we are arguing, are we? I just like to admit when I am wrong which is almost never. LOL!

No worries. If it makes you feel better know that im rarely ever wrong. Altho sometimes I'll argue against the grain just to see if i could win... I usually do.

ask walter

I have done very well aside from the seven figures I lost in my divorce to a thankless woman.  I don't come close to ES returns and I take a very conservative approach to investing and life. Would like to have a long discussion with OMR because Wall Street guys offer great insight into the major market drivers.

I also live with a woman who is the CFO of her second IT start up (brilliant) and I consult with her company and others in the IT and medical IT space.

So you like winning just for the sake of winning and not because you are necessarily right? Did I get this right?

Its not only about winning but also exploring a topic - devil's advocate.

Winning is for the ego. Knowledge is for the soul.

Guess I am slow sometimes.  I get where you are coming from now.
