I actually like, more past tense, Def Leppard in the 80's but they fell off completely in the 90's. Still enjoy the old stuff. Never really thought if them as a big influence on the other 80's bands but who knows. A band that I liked in the early 80's, Quiet Riot, never gets any credit.

Honestly it was a well done album and interesting but damn after 20 yrs of hype mothing could have lived up to that.

The Bends is a great album, but it's the only one of theirs I would consider an all-time classic.

You gotta wrap your head around KidA a littke bit...but it was awarded "best album of the DECADE" by Rolling Stone msgazine for the 2000s. That's decade.not year...LOL.

Their latest King of Limbs is excellent...not too many Bands that are still intact and still ceative after 20 years.

And Yeah if we are throwing out bands like Motorhead and Deep Purple.....Soundgarden is in their league all day.

You know your music..I would bet 95% of this board hasn't heard a single track off "The Bends" ...and they will say Radiohead doesn't Rock...that album is all guitar.

600k in the U.S. and 3 million worldwide.

I actually quite enjoyed that album, some really, really great stuff on it but there are some clunkers.

Cornell does have one of the best voices in Rock! Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are the two best bands to come out of Seattle in my opinion. Can't leave out Layne Staley's haunting vocals!
