Not at all.  I've been maltreated too.  Marginalized and disenfranchised.  I know my brother's pain.  I too am a N!  I just happen to be pale.  But I'm claiming this word for myself, my people, and all the downtrodden, the hard done by, those who have been stuck in traffic or had to wait in a queue, anyone who got home and found that the milk jug had a leak somewhere and had to debate whether to risk just putting it in the fridge or not.

I agree. but there is a movement to ban the word completely. There are many black people who are offended by the word as well.

The word shouldn't be eradicated from the language because censorship is repugnant but I don't think it should be in common use either I  do think its silly when talking about the word, not even using it as a racial epithet, people replace it with the N-word.  Come on, we are adults discussing the word not using it as an insult.

Maybe we should blame the school system. Our use of the English language has become incredibly poor. People are becoming less and less articulate.

Classic literature is almost non existent in the school system. Students read less and less. They aren't exposed to the prose and grammar that they once were. At least in the Canadian school system. It's becoming very controversial.

We can't even be bothered to use proper words (lol, wtf). I blame this due to technological advances and laziness.

If we don't expose children to a satisfactory vocabulary then we aren't giving them the proper tools to express themselves adequately.

Using swear words as part of your regular vocabulary is lazy. There are synonyms for every word out there.

There is a time and place for more vulgar terms, but an intelligent man will know when and where to use them.

I actually think N I gg a has its place in our vocabulary. You can't eradicate it really. But you can choose not to use it if it offends you.
