We're usually in agreement on things like this, but what reason did the officer have to shoot at a fleeing van full of children that posed no threat?

Quite often I am outraged by excessive police brutality, like when they beat to death some homeless guy, but in this circumstance,  I really wanted the cop to shoot that woman.  Talk about a sense of entitlement, she thought because she was black, and a woman, she was above the law, that she didn't have to respect authority.  As it was the cop was looking out for her, he didn't even book her for an expired licence.  I have come across some real douchebag cops in my time, if any of them were nice to me like that I have shown them gratitude, not pointlessly argue with them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think cops are allowed to shoot out tires anymore? All they did by shooting was make her run faster, just like police chases which should never be allowed.

The other officers said he fired three shots attempting to hit the tires in order to stop the car from taking off.  The mother should be up for WORST mother of the year.  Her son nearly attacked that one officer.  He could have easily been shot and it would have been justified.

Furthermore, once this dumb lady took off, she was in excess of speeds of 90.

How you have any sympathy for this moron is beyond me.

What a fucking horrible mother that risk her kids life like that. If i had mh kid in the car no way would i risk thst she has to see her dad getting arrested and then drive like a maniac with her in the car.  The officer had alot of patience and gave her 100 chances.

I hate pigs(most cops) but god damn that first officer showed waaayyyy too much restraint. That woman was being beyond ridiculous. Sadly her type actually isn't that uncommon. Her son is lucky to still be alive.

with that said I think the officers who came to assist should be fired or disciplined. An escaping vehicle is not a direct threat to their lives so I don't see a good reason to open fire.

Also, when you have people who come out of the van and assault an officer, how does one know another person will not? Or how do they know that there are people in the van with guns?

When a person takes off like that, that raises a lot of suspicions.
