Vince also had wide clavicles when compared to his waist. Having a sharp constrast between the width of the shoulders, and the width of the waist is the ideal starting point (pre-drugs). Vince looked like he went "light" on the drugs.

Even Jay Cutler had that starting point. Albiet Jay's waist was wider than Vince's, but Jay had wider clavicles to off-set the wider waist. (in chasing Coleman, the excessive drugs eventually produced a blockier look)

Same with Levrone. Good starting point.

Its all about having the right shoulder/midsection ratios

His thighs were always a little bit "small", especially compared to his great calves.  Personally, I think he has one of the best all-time physiques--because I think 30" shredded thighs look retarded--but the schmoes/judges would probably disagree.

Vince said he never even trained his calves (matarazzo said the same...) and if he did he would do some standing calf raises without weight. Also said he ate 3 times aday... If this is not bullshit it's crazy beyond words. Vince's back was fucking great as well, people tend to forget this...someone can find some pics? that or i try later when i'm back from the gym...deadlift day  :-\

Calves are highly genetic I have a friend with like 18 inch calves never done a toe raise in his life.

This pic is from the 1997 ASC. Vince is 40-41 here. This is also a testament to just how good Lee Priest used to be.

True, but competitors aren't only judged by their strong poses...
People complain that Phil is 'all arms', then what about Lee?

A friend of mine said Vince told him bodyweight calf raises were all he did.

On the 2006 BFTO, you can see Vince do a few different calf raise machines.  Definitely great genetics either way though
