The Scandinavian systems especially are brilliant, I admire them. I like Socialism for you guys.

For me though, I want minimal government. It was nice knowing there was one last place on Earth where you could be completely independent (I realize those days are over for now in the US unfortunately, and maybe forever). Instead of handing your income over to politicians, save your money, plan ahead, and you'll be better than fine. I've seen it a million times. Your safety net is your savings, your family, community and charities.


Sometimes terribly unfortunate circumstances do occur, that's life.

i agree with this to a point

the problem is in the uk we made a section of society that is welfare dependent

a welfare system should support people in need but should also be aimed at getting people out of the welfare system and back into work

i cant believe that in the states your ability to pay seems to be the main factor in getting treatment
