And I also said his big difference was conditioning. He had the size already.

And he WAS winning pro shows in 96 and 97, like I said. He beat Flex in the 98 NOC, like you said. Dude was on the radar. The whole "he came outta nowhere to win the 98 O" IS revisionist history/IFBB hype machine.

Ronnie never beat Flex at the 1998 NOC or any NOC for that matter. Flex beat Ronnie at the 1996 NOC with Ronnie coming in second. Ronnie beat Levrone at the 1998 NOC. Although Ronnie was winning some shows here and there before 1998, they weren't huge shows like the AC etc. He did beat Flex before 1997, but Flex was no where near his best. In my opinion Ronnie did come out of no where to win the 1998 Mr. Olympia. Ronnie not ever being in the Top 5 at any Mr. Olympia before 1998 and coming in 9th place in 1997 screams "Out Of Nowhere" if you ask me.

Sorry, it was the 96 show I was thinking of.

My point is, that as a Pro, Ronnie was on the map. He may not have been a favorite at the O but it's not like he came from an unknown to suddenly being the champ.
