Dieting questions
« on: January 11, 2006, 01:03:15 PM »
Nutrition is my weakest link.  So here it goes.  1 1/2 weeks into cutting here is my diet as follows

5"10 222 lbs this morning  Probably could get down to 200 and would look really lean and almost ripped.

wake up, 40 minutes of eliptical (mon, tue, wed, sat, and sun...sometimes ill take tue off, leg day on thur) then.....
1 cup of oatmeal with 2 cups of milk and 1 scoop of musclemilk around 9

10:00
Snack on a couple table spoons of peanut butter and/or cashews

1130
chicken breast, baby shrimp, 1/4 cup of rice, green beans

300
same as 1130

430
Protein shake
500
workout
630
protein shake

730-800
chicken breast with 2 slices of cheese

1000
1-2 cups of oatmeal with 2 cups of milk and 1 scoop protein

*drinking only water throughout the entire day

question is I think I've gained a few pounds. ...maybe lost 1/2 inch on waste ot not!!!!   I feel bloated and hungary all day.  That normal?  Drinking to much water?  To many carbs at bedtime?   Or do I just need to get it more time.

Need more info, just ask.

Thanks.

Looks pretty decent.

Couple things:

1)  Just me, but I like a real food protien for breakfast (eggs)
2)  Switch the peanut butter or cashews with almonds
3)  Carbs with 630 protein shake
4)  Depending on how soon you go to bed after your 1000 meal, cut the carbs out.  If you eat at 10 and then go to bed, no carbs.  If your up for a few hours, the carbs are ok.

Give it a few more weeks, the hunger will subside.  The bloat felling is probably because your consciencly drinking more water than before.

go by your body and not the scale, you can actually get leaner and put on weight with proper nutrition.
drop the carbs so late in the evening unless you stay up til 2.
go with some cottage cheese or similiar before bed slower digesting protein and way less carbs.

do you normally eat that many veggies or that much fat?

I have the same thing during my diet, mostly because of more fat and fiber than normal.  I eat low fat when i'm bulking but take fish oil when dieting.

I think the consensus is to switch these 2 meals.....you want a good amount of protein so you keep your body anabolic during sleep but not the carbs.

Personally before bedtime I either have a protein only shake or a few hardboiled eggs ........

My veggies are minimal.  1/2 serving of green beans twice a day, thats it for veggies.  I am also taking flax oil.

Your right....that is a switch that I have made.  I will also add almonds at the 1000 meal to get some extra fiber in.
