anyone donating to animals, especially dogs or bunnies is a good fella in my book. Joon is 'unique' but if he really forked over a grand to animals then good for him.

however from working with volunteer groups who help shelters, I sadly know that a lot of shelter admins and 'workers' here in CA are the same kind of scumbags who get guvmint jobs in the DMV etc because of who they know or their skin color, not because they actually love animals. Animals in some of the LA shelters get a shit life, and the humane society was literally torturing animals at one point.. two little sick bunnies we tried to help were left in a cage without food for days and died.


Much better to give to an independent rehoming organization who rescues from kill shelters and rehomes.

we got the disabled brother of our rottie pup transported from SF to a sanctuary in Wyoming last year, he got an amazing new home on a farm with a family who loves him and spent a fortune on rehabbing him to the point he can walk and play with the other rotties.

This. We've adopted two dog from a place called Saving Them All Rescue. They take dogs from high-kill shelters all over the south and place them in homes in the northeast. In the NE, there is a lack of shelter dogs because folks are very good at spaying/neutering and the demand is so high.
