dieting for personality type
« on: March 27, 2014, 10:39:27 AM »
any of you ever hear of this? no, cause it doesn't exist. I came upon it based on my own experiences and trial and error after years of trying everything under the sun.

ever wonder why your diet fails fails you? Macros are macros and cals are cals. so in essence ANY diet should work. calorie deficit = weight loss.

that being said, if it's not the nuts and bolts of cals in vs cals expended that fails you, then what is it?

YOU fail you. you as in your inability to stay on your diet.

ever wonder why you can't stay on a diet while others can just grind out month after month with no problems and end up shredded? it's because they, accidentally, have discovered a way of dieting that agreed with their personality.

think about it. I know myself I am all or nothing. I can't have x amount of carbs, x amount of protein, x amounts of fat. why? cause I will not adhere to it. why can't I not adhere to it? because if I can eat carbs and stay within my daily cal intake, guess what- a majority of my cals will come from carbs. why? because I'm allowed them. I am not regimented enough to measure foods, prepare meals, and whatnot. I need simplicity and absolutes. therefor ketogenic dieting fits me to a T.

there is no carbs. if there's no carbs I simply don't crave them. my personality doesn't let me crave then because they just simply are not allowed. so what then can I eat? protein and fat. and as a result I always hit my protein goal for your day. always. cause it's the only cals I can eat. that combined w fasting and an extreme cal deficit (ie the Galeniko method) works amazingly for me because there it is hard and all or nothing.

I urge you to take into account your personalities next time you diet. are you highly regimented highly organized? chances are a 30/30/30 or some other kind of macro provisioning diet is right up your alley. you'll stay on it cause it suits your personality.

no diet will or can work if you don't stay on it. if your not having much success dieting maybe look at your personality, then build your diet around that.

cheers.

It  takes a determined and focused mindset to eat strict for lengthly periods......especially at the start of the diet.

For me,once I go 2-3 weeks,it`s all tunnellvision with no cheating................ just comes easy at that point for me and I`ve eaten clean for almost a whole year at times.

When I say clean,I mean fucking Spartanlike.

Too easy.........for me anyway, awhat with my superior mind!  :D

I experimented with diets in order to find the healthiest compromise and a balanced diet people can shape up and feel good not a grueling contest.

I liked my 100/100/100 diet. 100g of protein, 100g of carbs and 100g of fats .. or variations on this theme.

Despite the examples of you and Gal, I worry a lot about dieting away what little muscle I have on a keto/super low cal diet.

you will not lose muscle. do you realise how hard it is to lose tissue? fuck this is the biggest 'broscience' myth of this century.

you'll lose glycogen and water, and the illusion of size. but not tissue. you'll soon find out if you have real muscle, or a lot of fat masquerading as muscle.

Is this your normal everyday diet or is it when cutting or maintaining whilst cut?
