Sex isn't viewed as vile, in and of itself. Sex, outside of marriage, is a different matter.
From many times in our history, the enjoyment of sex has been viewed as vile. Only necessary for the continuation. And let's not touch on female sexuality. Or  that Mary M was supposedly a hooker.

I wonder why people always think that only one person was named Jesus back then.  I bet there were a lot of people named Jesus.
Hey-sus was like Tupac or Biggie. Sure there were probably many others that went by that name. But only this Jesus was G'd Up.

The Mary Mags hooker thing comes from the Catholic traditional teaching that cites her as the woman caught in adultery, whom Jesus saved from being stoned to death.  That may not necessarily be the case, their being one and the same.

I meant "supposedly" and not that it was "fact".
And as with any rebel, be it spiritual or cultural, or both, women are and can be attracted to the certain qualities that that man exhibits. Exuding strength and fortitude, kindness, and firmness.

This argument baffles me honestly. Why is it so offensive to Christians that Jesus might be married? Wouldn't it be wierd to be 30 and NOT married at that time? Like accused of being gay and stoned to death for not being married? Hopefully someone can explain why, if he was married, it some how changes their beliefs.

I don't believe that Christ was married, but even if He had gotten hitched, it would've been perfectly fine. He probably didn't get married for the same reason God told Jeremiah not to get married--because he had a mission that would put Him directly in harm's way and wouldn't be conducive to married/family life.

On a related note, how early church leaders tried to equate sex with sin on all levels:
