Some people get the weight up, some don't.

I think the winner does 680 or 690.

i think only one of the girls successfully lifts. The other one tries twice and misses parallel once, and almost hits the floor another time.

the 400-pound guy was hilarious. Dancing, singing, and squatting 675.

Song 2- Jay-Z "breathe"
Song 3- Chevelle "send the pain below".

I figured with the whole squatting concept, those songs were appropriate.

Red Inzer - He has done 455 for 10 clean reps in the gym before, strong guy. I don't think he completed a rep in the contest, but it was such a numbers game. It got up to 600 really fast. The guy that went second on the clip- big, lean guy- he won with 680 I think. He kept setting the bar so high that many ppl failed by going for a higher weight than they were used to.

that guy was funny... He was somewhere between 370 and 400 pounds. Just huge.

He kept dancing, telling jokes, throwing out cliche weightlifting phrases, and encouraging noise from the crowd. Made all 3 of his lifts tho.

As far as stepping back, probably a combination of habit, and the fact that he was so big he might bump the cage.

Santa claus was old as dirt, but had some sick veins on his biceps. He must have been oldschool powerlifter. He moved and racked two 100s at a time like they were 5's, while carrying on a conversation calmly.

what's considered 'normal' for a winning squat weight # at a meet?

Quite a few of those guys were lifting raw. The suits that had the three white stripes on the legs were singlets not suits.
