Wtf happened to the WWE since then? I just caught an episode the other day and it's more kiddy than it was at the height of the Hogan reign in the mid/late 80's. Did it go completely PG because it's now a publicly traded company and that's how the investors want it to be? I'm sure if it regained it's attitude, it would make more money?

When the Attitude Era ended, it went from PG-13 to PG. About the time WWF changed to WWE. So probably 2003/4.

I will say The Rock vs. Stonecold feud was entertaining enough that people who didn't like wrestling would watch wrestling just to see what would happen between them. Back then Vince was involved in the show's scripts as a participant as well, not just an owner.

I grew up with those too, missed the 90s and caught in 2000s when I saw the Hardy Boys doing some insane shit while channel surfing.  Rock/Austin/Angle were all hilarious.

The WWE still makes more money than any other business, PG or not.
