The Dream Tan secret...well I had always heard such bad things about it so when I was ordering my tanning stuff this year I wasn't going to get it. I was going to buy Tammy Pies competition color but the shipping was too expensive for me to justify (over $20) and after emailing her about it I never heard back so I started looking at other companies products. I came across a dream tan product that is similar to Pro-Tan so I figured I would give it a shot but avoid the cream. When I was ordering I called and actually spoke with the owner who was really nice. He said I should really try the #2 (I think...its the reddish one) cream product-I told him that I didn't think judges liked it on Figure girls, he said he would throw in a sample for me to try.
I still wasn't going to use it but after applying their Pro-Tan-like product I was a little yellowish and I started to get nervous. Anyway I ran into a guy who said he puts the cream stuff on the night before and lets it sink in-I did a thin layer, wore long sleeves and pants to bed and in the morning much of it had rubbed off. I looked better but still not dark enough. I got to the show and my friend, who I found out loves Dream Tan, said I was no where near dark enough and said she was putting more on me and to trust her becaue she "had the touch." She didn't put a ton on my skin but rubbed it in well, going in semi-circular motions and giving finishing pats to it, she wore gloves (which probably isn't necessaary) and did it in good light. It didn't really smudge-I was careful not to touch anything but once she had applied and perfected the finish I looked 50% darker and better. She started with my back, then arms and legs- she rubbed in an upward motion, then downward and more circular. I made her promise to help me the next few times:)
I agree that my arms are too wide-it was my first time trying that pose on stage. At Jr's we will have to keep our arms by our sides so I should really be practicing that pose. I feel that I need to peak my shoulders more on the front and back and I haven't gotten that perfected on stage yet.
This is the only picture I have of the overall winner at this point, she is on the left with the blonde hair and bright blue suit-once I get a better one I will post it.
