While I will not speak right now about the lengths to which many competitors will go to achieve their "contest looks", each athlete is responsible for her own set of choices. 

I've already gone through every phase of obsession, however - the physical, emotional, psychological, etc.  Those days are long gone for me, I'm afraid.  Once you make the choice to go commercial, there's really no looking back.  I tried to co-exist between the two worlds of being a fan and making a little money on the side, but in order to survive, you've got to be fully committed to one or the other.
