No way.... Ray was better than (meaning more consistent) than Wheeler and Levrone. I also believe he beats Haney in a posedown.

I don't like comparing who is better in different eras. I think Shawn Ray had a better physique then Arnold, but they are in different generations. Flex had the best physique I have ever seen (for one show)

Shawn Ray personified hard work.  He never showed up out of shape, and you could argue he was at his best during the end of his career. He may not have an Olympia title, but Shawn Ray is absolutely in the all-time top ten, ever.

Arnolds legs were out of proportion to his upper body but that is consistent with the era.  I suspect a lot of competitors back then did a lot of running to cut resulting in the stringy leg look.

Shawn wasn't better than a prime wheeler or levrone but those guys became very inconsistent and later yrs wheeler was overrated, oil everywhere, played the mass game and messed up his lines, levrone lost a lot of thickness, legs gone and by his last O was 6th place which was a gift

Haney was a 250 lb version of Shawn Ray. He made Ray look like a small 212 lber. Pictures do not do Haney justice - he was as massive as Yates and always in condition. There is a reason his competition record was what it was.

He was also a great ambassador for the "sport".

I think both Ronnie and Dorian (especially Dorian) got gifted a couple of Sandows towards the end.

Ummm NO!

I suppose you could be right, but taking the entire "presentation" if you will, into account I find Wolf to be pretty good.  Dexter?  Nope. Shawn?  Nope.  Flex?  Hell nope.  Francois?  Maybe.  Dillett?  Huge and from what little I've seen, none too humble, but that's true of most bodybuilders.  They all want to be Arnold but his "arrogance" was born of genuine supremacy and a keen sense of humor. 

Theirs is whelped of ego.

For me, it would be Dennis for the win, but I understand your point of view and accept it as a valid one.

Bob Paris for the aesthetics, Serge Nubret for similar reasons and Flex Wheeler, in his prime and at his very best he is hard to beat.
