Almost every pro has crappy form and does partials.  Why do people keep asking this question?

^Exactly.

I've said it so many times on here.

Bodybuilders aren't about strict form.

Powerlifters are.

powerlifter's have crappy form as well, there squat range of motion is shithouse like most of there otherlifts, maybe needing to have a good range of motion is just a myth :o

Are you serious or just high?

Have you been to a powerlifting meet?

The form has to be tight and clean or the rep doesn't count.

These are regulation reps that are judged.

You clearly have no clue as to what you speak of.

no i couldn't believe the way that powerlifters squat with there feet so far apart so the range of motion is like the equivalent to a quarter squat, and they count the lift in a meet

What the hell does the width of their stance on a squat have to do with range of motion? No matter how how wide your stance, you still have to squat to a certain depth. Stance has nothing to do with range of motion. As previously said you have never been to a PL meet or you've never squatted before, or both.

You're clearly ignorant......

Powerlifters have the best form, perhaps rivaling that of Olympic lifters in terms of technique.

I repeat:  The reps have to be clean and tight, otherwise they don't count.

The form you see these bodybuilders use while training would not count for shit in a PL meet.

is arching ur back as much as possible when doing benchpress textbook form is it? powerlifters have textbook form for powerlifting, not you general lifting textbook form you would tell a client to do just starting out weights that is my point

Well from where I'm from, PL's fail a lift if their back arches up off the bench.

i would never have a client start squating with the westside stance... it works way to much back and way to little legs.

and on bench you can arch your back as far as you want... as long as your ass and shoulder blades stay on the bench.  Usually powerlifters drop the bar way down below nipple level to find the groove in their shirt.

yes div, there are judges and they have to meet a certain criteria.  but I would never EVER have a beginner start off using a PL form.

Where on this thread did I ever say that a beginner should start off using PL form?

God Luke mentioned that, not I.

In fact where did I mention anything about beginners?

Don't put words in my mouth, HavoX.

For what they do PL's have the best form, putting bodybuilders to shame......

Tight, clean......correct.

Untouchable.

I agree with that. Most of the powerlifters at my gym are textbook.

not sure but at my local LA fitness we have similar DB's. the heaviest ones there are 125 and they are alot smaller than what branch is using from what i can tell.

I generally don't like that type of training. It's all ego training and you need to constantly sike yourself up each set with adrenaline but hey, they're huge so who am I to argue.

That clip of that bucket of shit Gustavo Badell on that clip is horrible.  If I was him I would be ashamed to have that clip floating around on the internet.  every time I see that guy I want to kill him.

Jackson and Warren are awesome, and if you have read about them they train like powerlifter/bodybuilders in the offseason and then start to detail as a contest aproaches. Jackson Still does PL meets and has put up some crazy numbers.
