When she was young, she was fairly good looking. In fact, she was a fashion model in New York before she married. Unfortunately, she smoked tons of cigarettes and drank a lot of booze over the years, which didn't do much for her remaining attractive when she got into her 40's. She remained slim all her life though. She died when she was only 61 years old.
