Exactly. We played soccer, kick ball, rode bikes just all sorts of shit. Even played with toy guns.  :o

No wonder today's kids are so fat and have "ADD"  ::)

There was a small wood beside across from my house, would always wander down and go exploring. There was a deep enough stream running through it, other kids would venture there and it was fairly mazy. Parents never worried I'd get lost, drown or get beaten up. I was youngest child so guess parents were used to it by that stage.

Problem is the hysteria over pedos, cars (running over kids) and the fact that we have become accustomed to knowing where people always are or being able to contact them because of mobile phones. I remember meeting friends or a girl when younger meant arranging a place and often waiting ages because a bus or train might be late or there was a mix up about where to meet. Any loss of contact with kids/anyone really makes people panic now.

Update This thread is now about how great our childhoods were and how today's youth are missing out.  ;D

Legos, Transformers, and He-Man.

All of which still reside in my attic. I should sell them at some point I guess.
I have all my old transformers and GI joes, they're stored in my parents attic, some of which are worth serious money. I thougth about selling them but I think I'll hand them down to my son.

Crap toy guns that didn't even shoot. Arguing over who actually shot who.

When I was younger we all used to get together with all the other kids in the near houses and play hide and seek in all our gardens plus the alley way. I'm not sure kids even get together like that anymore?

Bulldog, murder in the dark, it, water fights, making pretend radio shows with tape recorders

We used to steal my dad's dictaphone and make strange voices etc. Bet he got pissed off when he needed to listen back to his work  ;D

I'm secretly happy when I see my son's legs often covered in bruises from climbing walls and playing. His mom is very protective, as they are, I just let him and my nephew play outside while I chill out until I hear crying  ;D

Johnny 7 gun. Remember the day in the mid 60's when my friends and me all got firearms to shoot each other with. Armed with the Johnny 7 my friends had no chance of survival, especially the ones playing the part of the dirty Japanese soldiers.

I thought I died and went to heaven when I got my first Tonka truck for Xmas in the 70`s.

Also, my Big Jim Rescue Rig was my first action figure and set.

These were awesome, until they glued in the missles in later versions.   Heavy metal magnetic joints....  Could swap horse legs for wheels, make minotaur.....other micronuats ruled too.

This one had batteries and it never occurred to us it had a rotating drill dick:

Lots of metal parts on others, until they got cheap.

I had the old red and yellow one ;D

Nope.

A Green Machine and a Big Wheel are different animals. ::)

The Green machine is weak in demo derbies, I got in trouble for wrecking a couple of these.

Check it, you just run your big front wheel into the steering.

I still have many of these.  Tons of fun when I was 10 years old.  Biotron rules!

They were different vehicles, of course...but the first green machines said "Big Wheel" on them.

This might be funnier if I wasn't 40, married, have 2 of my own kids, and don't even live in the same city as my mother. Lol.

Don't tell him that man - the dude is a miserable lil loser and hearing that you have a normal life reminds him of his miserable existence. SS is a tool and doesn't realize that it's 100% his own fault that he is a failure. When he comes to the internet and "owns" people it's his only success in life - let the guy have that

This thing was amazing.  Solid metal crank and solid rubber back wheel.  The speed and RPM you could generate were enough to cause a burn on the skin if you touched the back wheel after revving it up.   It could go so far on a flat surface, over jumps, and stay up after it crashed into shit.  Great call.
